Review: “The Raven King” by Maggie Stiefvater

I have avoided writing a review for this book for the past few days now. It just means that the ending is truly official for me. It’s over. No more stories about the raven boys and Blue.  Alas.

I am pleased to say that I enjoyed this book. It was one of my most anticipated releases for April so when I went on summer vacation this July, I put it on my TBR because I could actually dedicate time to it. I even took it with me on my road trip to Colorado (possible post about that later). We reached Pike’s Peak together and went camping! Haha.

Spoiler-free reviews as always. 🙂

Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Things Books Have Made Me Want to Do/Learn

Oh my goodness, I actually struggled trying to put together this TTT! I’ve read so many books that have made me want to do certain things but thinking of 10…somehow, I have a problem! So I went through all my books on Goodreads and managed to find ten books, all of which made me want to do similar things.

Here we go!

Don’t forget to leave your TTT and I’ll be sure to check it out! And don’t forget to check out the other TTT on Broke and Bookish!

Review: “Cinder” by Marissa Meyer

So this is another book series that I’ve seen everywhere on Instagram and its praises have been sung on Goodreads as well. I actually have had this book on my shelf for months but I’m weird and had to buy the entire series before I started reading it. 🙃

Well, I finally found Cress, the 3rd book in the series, to complete my collection for less than $9 at my local bookstore. Cinder was on my July TBR and I was so excited to finally get to it. I checked it out from my library as an audiobook but I didn’t listen to it as often because I wasn’t driving to and from work. I listened to about half before I had to return it and then I just picked it off my shelves.

Needless to say, I enjoyed it. 🙂 Especially when I realized that it was like Sailor Moon… Continue reading

Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Books Set Outside the USA

So by now I’m probably still driving to my campsite! I scheduled a few posts to make sure I don’t flood my blog with posts and I don’t get anxious trying to write all the posts… ^_^’ I also brought a handful of books with me so I can keep up with my July TBR and, of course, to keep myself entertained!

The 13-hour drive to  our destination was split into two days for the sake of my sanity and of course, the pure goodness of roadtripping–sight seeing and eating, for my husband and me. 🙂

Anyways, here’s my TTT for this week! Leave a link to your TTT and I’ll be sure to check it out! ❤

ARC Review: “The Assassin Game” by Kirsty McKay

Thank you to Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Fire for giving me a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

I know I say that contemporary YA novels aren’t my thing, but I’ve recently read a few that I really enjoyed and I thought I’d give this one a go. The cover makes it look creepy and thrilling. While it would fall under the “thriller” category, the whole concept lacked a few things for me to give it more than a 3 star or better than average rating.

Top Ten Tuesday: 10 (Bookish) Facts about Me!

So I did something similar a while ago when I first started my blog but I haven’t done an “about me” that’s completely bookish so yay! I’m taking a deeper look into my own bookshelf bookish self and as an introvert, I’m okay with that!

Shoutout to Broke & Bookish for the Top Ten Tuesday topics! And don’t forget to post a link to your TTT so I can take a look! I love learning about people (in a non-creeper, non-stalkerish kind of way). 🙂

Review: “A Court of Thorns & Roses” by Sarah J. Maas

I did! I caved in (like usually) and read this incredibly hyped book that I’ve heard nothing but amaze-balls things about!

And guess what?

I liked it but it didn’t live up to the hype. 😦 Sure, it was great! Maas writes a great story, don’t get me wrong! I love her Throne of Glass series so to read another series by her, of course I was excited! But to be honest, I wasn’t blown away by this book and for me, it didn’t live up to the hype. *hides under the table*

Top Ten Tuesday: Underrated Books!

My second “Top Ten Tuesday” and I already enjoy writing these posts! Haha.  If you’d like to participate on your own blog, head over to The Broke and the Bookish to check out the topics!

I followed the instructions on the blog to find the lower ratings on Goodreads, and I’m surprised to see a lot of books I enjoyed with under 2,000 ratings! I hope you find some books to add to your list and please, leave a link to your Top Ten Tuesday, and maybe I can find more books to add to my TBR!
