Waiting on Wednesday: “The Names They Gave Us” by Emery Lord

I absolutely fell in love with Lord’s When We Collided, so when I heard she was coming out with another book, I immediately put it on my TBR because–well, duh! lol Better yet, on Monday, I received an ARC through the #arcsfortrade hashtag on Twitter, and I’m so excited to start it (even though I have a million other books to read! Surprised?! LOL).

The Names They Gave Us is Lord’s fourth standalone book. She’s also contributing to an anthology titled Meet Cute: Some People Are Destined to Meet which released in January 2018.

As I stated above, I loved When We Collided and found myself relating to it in various areas. My heart simply hurt while reading it. Would you think I’m crazy if I told you I look forward to all the feels this book will give me? Well, I am! Haha!

The Names They Gave Us releases on May 16, 2017 which is next week! 6 days, people!

Here’s the synopsis:

Lucy Hansson was ready for a perfect summer with her boyfriend, working at her childhood Bible camp on the lake. But when her mom’s cancer reappears, Lucy falters—in faith, in love, and in her ability to cope. When her boyfriend “pauses” their relationship and her summer job switches to a different camp—one for troubled kids—Lucy isn’t sure how much more she can handle. Attempting to accept a new normal, Lucy slowly regains footing among her vibrant, diverse coworkers, Sundays with her mom, and a crush on a fellow counselor. But when long-hidden family secrets emerge, can Lucy set aside her problems and discover what grace really means?
