I didn’t know what to think of this book when I first went into it. After reading Schwab’s A Darker Shade of Magic, which everyone raved about but I just found meh, I started This Savage Song with hesitation. But I loved it, and my heart hurt when I found out it was only a duology. However, Our Dark Duet didn’t disappoint!

Review: “Noteworthy” by Riley Redgate
Wow, why have I not seen this book around Instagram or Twitter more often? It’s amazing! Truthfully, I was only slightly hesitant to pick this up because I wasn’t sure I would be able to relate to the musical aspect of this book, but whatever! Who cares because this book is amazing!
WWW Wednesday #1
WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Should Be Reading. It’s really easy to hop into this one–all you have to do is answer the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Review: “Bitterblue” by Kristin Cashore
Review: “A Thousand Nights” by E.K. Johnston
This book was a complete cover buy, and I’m sad to say it was a complete disappointment, too. 😦 Reviews for this book is mixed, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway. Alas, I was better off not reading this at all… I loved Johnston’s Exit, Pursued by a Bear which is a contemporary so wow, yes, a fantasy novel? Ahhhhh, so wrong.
Top 5 Wednesday: Books Not Set in the Western World
Well, this is going to be loads of fun, I just know it! And to choose only 5?! Ahhhhh! Let’s get to it!
Review: “Tash Hearts Tolstoy” by Kathryn Ormsbee
I picked this book up on a whim when I saw it in the new YA section at the library. I’ll admit the cover is not exactly what drew me to the book since it’s just a picture of a scowling Leo Tolstoy, author of Anna Karenina (not my favorite classic by far, but you know). It was actually the description of the book on the inside flap.
Review: “The Dark Days Club” by Alison Goodman
I pulled this book from my TBR jar (which just grew by 13 books recently, hehe). I devoured this book. I probably say that often, but I don’t know how else to describe how amazing a book is that I finish it within a matter of days, but also don’t want it to end! Ahhhh!
This book also made me realize how much I love Regency fiction, and the fact that it’s YA makes it all the better!
June 2017 Book Haul and Wrap-Up!
I think I say this often, but I never really know how many books I buy until I stack them all together for a book haul IG pic or to write a post like this. Well, it hasn’t been too bad this month, and I’m really trying to keep the book hauls on the lower number side since my shelves are starting to get way out of hand. But…what’s new there? Haha.
ARC Review: “What to Say Next” by Julie Buxbaum
What to Say Next was a pleasant surprise. I haven’t read Buxbaum’s YA debut novel, Tell Me Three Things, but I bought it immediately after reading this book. I picked up What to Say Next at the North Texas Teen Book Festival this past March. I didn’t know much about it. Truthfully, I just picked it up from the booth.
Well, I’m glad I did. So glad.
