I added this book to my TBR when I heard it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Unfortunately, it took me a while to actually get the book and read it, but my local library had it so I put it on hold and violá! I read it, loved it, and now I have to write a coherent review because it’s BEAUTIFUL AND MAGICAL. ✨
So I heard many great things about this book, but I continued to push it aside for months. Yet I finished one audiobook and none of the ones I wanted to listen to were available, so I downloaded The Serpent King on a whim. Let me just say I was not prepared! I mean, I had to keep myself from crying while at work.
I think this is the first time I didn’t finish an ARC. For some reason, I always feel guilty not finishing them, especially since I specifically request them (via NetGalley), under the assumption I’ll love it.
Thanks NetGalley and Flatiron books for giving me a free digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
It’s been nearly a year since I did one of these non-bookish posts. They’re really part of the “random ramblings” tag for my blog. XD Anyway, let me see if I can catch you up on what I’ve done in the past… *counts* 10 months. Bear with me.
Hi, I’m horrible because this is so late. I really need to plan these better–I’m sorry!
If you haven’t heard of Unicorn Crate, it’s a fairly new subscription box that focuses mainly on YA fantasy. There’s a book box and a beauty/lifestyle box. Of course, I went for the book box. 😉 The July box was my first from them and wow, I was so blown away by all the items! (I guess it didn’t help I was disappointed in OwlCrate’s July box.)
I listened to this book via audiobook, and it was so pleasant. The narrator was fantastic, and I’m even excited for the sequel, Hunting Prince Dracula (even though I’m not super into the Dracula lore). I seriously can’t wait to see what Audrey Rose and Thomas are up to.
I shouldn’t be surprised that I’ve forgotten so much about the earlier books. It’s been nearly two years to the date since I first read Crown of Midnight, the second book in the bestselling Throne of Glass series. I always stated this book was one of my favorites, and I don’t think that’s changed at all either.
This review will contain spoilers! You can read my initial review of this review (with spoilers!) on Goodreads.
Per usual, I’m always late to post my book hauls. 😂 But hey, something is better than nothing, right? (At least, that’s what they say…)
Top Ten Tuesday has been on a hiatus ever since Jamie at The Broke and the Bookish has been on maternity leave. But I’m glad to be back with the themes, and I’m really excited to share this one with you. The overall topic is “10 Book Recommendations for _________” and you can insert whatever you want. I decided to go with YA contemporaries since I used to not read them at all. But over the past year or so, I’ve definitely read some great ones, and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you! 🙂
