Hi, I’m horrible because this is so late. I really need to plan these better–I’m sorry!
If you haven’t heard of Unicorn Crate, it’s a fairly new subscription box that focuses mainly on YA fantasy. There’s a book box and a beauty/lifestyle box. Of course, I went for the book box. 😉 The July box was my first from them and wow, I was so blown away by all the items! (I guess it didn’t help I was disappointed in OwlCrate’s July box.)
I absolutely love the unicorn theme! They are one of my favorite mythical creatures.
First things first, we have a beautiful Cheshire cat enamel pin from Alice in Wonderland by Box-Monster. While that’s not one of my favorite stories, I love enamel pins! The adorable magnetic bookmark is made by the talented Nerdy Girl Designs.
From left to right, there’s a Strawberry Unicorn Twist Pop by Tesla’s Tiny Twist Pops. I haven’t dove into this sweet treat yet, but I’m so excited to! Then there’s Caraval bath salt by Rebellion Beauty Co.. I love bath items! They come in handy on days when I feel overwhelmed or stress, and helps me unwind! And oh my goodness, take a look at the lovely candle by MyStoryTime Candles?! It brings me right back to my childhood, and reminds me of the lip gloss I’d put on my lips only to lick off, lol! It’s a 4oz candle, and truth be told, I’ve yet to burn it because I simply don’t want to use it or else it’ll be gone forever!
I love all the bright colors in this box and the zip bag and art print (both by Evie Seo) are absolutely perfect! I am so thrilled with zip bags since I actually find them quite useful. I received one previously in an FairyLoot box and use it to keep my most used hair accessories in. Now I have one to store my make-up in. 🙂 Woo-hoo! The art print is gorgeous, too! Evie never fails to create beautiful pieces.
Also, can we take a moment to admire the special stamp which is on the wrapping paper of the book?
Now for the coup de grâce…
The book came with a signed bookplate, author letter, and a poster! I really need to get on redesigning the office so I can hang up all my posters. OwlCrate’s July box came with a pretty sweet map poster, but I haven’t done anything with it yet. 😦 I’ve heard nothing but great things about Daughter of the Burning City by debut author Amanda Foody. It’s absolute perfect color scheme fit with the subscription box! 😛
Last but not least…
All the items together for a wonderful picture for my Instagram! So lovely! *_*
Unfortunately, I won’t be getting any subscription boxes for the next few months. Marie Lu will be near me for her Warcross book tour next month, so I’m saving money for a hotel and the 3-hour trip. I already pre-ordered the book and submitted by receipt here for the pre-order goodies! That being said, it means I’m super late telling you Unicorn Crate’s August theme (Legendary Archers), especially since I think they’ve already shipped out boxes… Oops! But there’s still time for the September box, which theme is “Epic Journeys”! They’re also doing a special one-time box for the release of Philip Pullman’s The Book of Dust, so go check it out!
