Oh my word, this topic! 😍 We always talk about our favorite romances, but we all know we’re fans of adorably platonic bromances! Count me in!
Top 5 Wednesday is a blog meme started on Goodreads. Click here to check out the group and rest of August’s topics!
Arin & Roshar from The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski|| It’s true! Y’ll know how much I love this series. These characters were the very first two I thought of when I read this topic! We meet Roshar briefly in The Winner’s Crime and then more fully in The Winner’s Kiss. I’m a firm believer that Roshar is all of us who shipped Arin and Kestrel together. (Refer to picture below. 👀)
Will & Jem from The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare || Truth be told, I didn’t like Will in the first book, but as the series progressed and I saw his utter devotion to Jem (and Tessa!) I couldn’t help but love him. The ending of Clockwork Princess killed me… So there’s that.
Gansey, Adam, Noah, Ronan from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater || Is there any question how much more of a bromance exists than between all four of these characters? They’re each uniquely different, and bring so much to the table in their search of the Welsh king Glendower. And then the events of The Raven King happened and OMG, I was screaming from pure joy! Can we have the Ronan trilogy in our hands already?
Darrow & Sevro from the Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown || How can you not like these two? Sevro was completely accepting of Darrow from the beginning and when the revelation happened in the later books, Sevro didn’t even bat an eyelash. I can’t wait for Iron Gold, and hope these two characters make apperances! (Gorgeous art by Phantom Rin because she continually amazes me with her work!)
Ron & Harry from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling || This bromance was also a no brainer. While they may have annoyed each other at times, and the fights they got into made me roll my eyes, Ron and Harry truly stuck together until the very end. My one fault is that I wish the movies had depicted Ron like in the books. He’s actually quite smart when it comes to certain aspects of the wizarding world, but in the movies, it’s really just slushed off and put to the side or Hermione is the one answering (like the story about The Deathly Hallows. In the movie, Hermione tells the story, but in the books, it’s Ron who does it and looks at Harry and Hermione like they’re crazy :P). Seven years goes by quicker than you’d think.
