*squeals* What a fun topic! I love going back and swooning repeatedly for my favorite book boyfriends. ❤
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. You can check out previous topics and the rest of October’s topics here.
James (Jem) Carstairs from The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare || Yes, it’s true. I am a Jem/Tess shipper! Forget you, Will! I love how soft-spoken and considerate Jem is. Truthfully, I loved him from the very beginning (and it definitely helped that he was half-Asian (half-Chinese to be exact). As you may know, I’m sucker for backstories and Jem’s is just heartbreaking. YOU DESERVE ALL THE HAPPINESS, JEM!
I won’t spoil anything if you haven’t read the series. I will say, however, that I prefer this series 100 times more than The Mortal Instruments. Also, the ending of Clockwork Princess killed me, so please resurrect me from the dead because I just died thinking about it again.
Matthias Helvar from the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo || Nina and Matthias together slayed me. I love their quips. They seriously give me all the feels. I needed them to have a happy ever after. I won’t say anything if you haven’t read Crooked Kingdom yet but OMG. 😭 I loved how Matthias overcomes his dark and prejudice past, and how his and Nina’s romance was slow and gradual, but it was radiant and beautiful, too. Matthias was able to find a niche with a group of people he most likely would have never even spoken to if it weren’t for the situations.
Chaol Westfall and Dorian Havilliard from Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas || Oh, what can I say about these beauties? I really admire their friendship. Chaol is incredibly protective of and loyal to Dorian, and Dorian has found a best friend for life in Chaol. Despite the crazy events of the series and the prejudices Chaol has to overcome, he definitely grows, and I can’t hate him for it. And poor Dorian. God, I’m surprised he never snapped sooner with that douchebag of a father. 🙄 (Fanart by Tara Spruit.)
Elias Veturius from An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir || Okay, so this maybe I chose these covers because I still can’t get over how gorgeous they are, and while they don’t show the best of Elias… WHO CARES?! If you’ve read these books, you know Elias is definite book boyfriend material and can you even with his feelings for Laia? God, I can’t believe we have to wait until April 2018 for book 3.
Heaven forbid I forget Lord Carlston from the Lady Helen series by Alison Goodman. Talk about an intense s l o w burn romance. Meet Lady Helen and Lord Carlston! Not only is this series filled with everything I love about historical fiction, but there’s a fantasy and supernatural element and HELLO, DID YOU READ THE LAST BOOK? TALK ABOUT A TEASE. I’m still not over it. All I know is that book 3 is supposed to be out sometime next year according to Goodreads, but there’s nothing about a title, cover, or a specific release date. Excuse me while I go cry in a corner.
Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen || Why yes, these Darcy’s are most likely judging you and your family as we speak. 😂 Okay, so Darcy is socially awkward, but damn if he can’t win you over Regency English style by saving your sister from utter ruin and paying off her stupid husband’s and former best friend’s debt then I don’t know what will draw you to him. 😂😂😂
Captain Frederick Wentworth from Persuasion by Jane Austen || All right! I’m on a role with the classics, so hello Capt. Wentworth! Spurned by the woman he loved eight years ago due to his penniless situation, Wentworth joined the navy and became… GUESS WHAT? FLIPPIN’ RICH. Anyway, so he returns eight years later and meets, YOU GUESSED IT, Anne Elliot, the woman who spurned him! Anyway, at 28 Anne is on the track to becoming a spinster but who pops up but the man she never truly got over, CAPTAIN WENTWORTH. Do yourself a dang favor and read this book or watch the BBC adaptations. I’m swooning just thinking about it. Hehe.
And Jesus Christ, did you think I’d forget Arin from The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski? Well, THINK AGAIN. The thing is I can’t find a lot of fanart around this series, so I’ve gathered two of my favorites below:
I actually have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to this series, which you can check out here if you’re so inclined and want to feed your obsession. 😛
Well, this post was entirely too much fun! ☺️
