September Wrap-Up & Book Haul!

Well, I surprised myself in September by reading more books than I thought I did! I can’t necessarily be mad at that considering lately, I’ve been a semi-reading slump and it feels so weird. But in terms of a book haul, I did fairly well. I’ve put myself on a rather strict ban due to ~adulting~. October may not be as kind as September though. 😅

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (reread) – ★★★ 1/2
Queen of Shadows by SJM (reread) – ★★★★ 1/2
The Assassin’s Blade by SJM (reread) – ★★★
Frostblood by Elly Blake – ★★★★
Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson – ★★★ 1/2
Warcross by Marie Lu – ★★★★★
Independent Study by Joelle Charbonneau – ★★★ 1/2
Monstress, Vol 1 & 2 by Marjorie Liu – ★★★★★

Monstress, Vol 1 & 2 were library books, hence why they’re not pictured! I actually returned them and then remembered I ought to have kept them because of the monthly book haul. Oops! 😛

Now onto the book haul…

All but Long May She Reign are September releases. And all of the releases are by some of my favorite authors. ❤ I’ve already read Warcross because I didn’t want the possibility of being spoiled when I saw Marie a few weeks ago. 😛 Needless to say, it was fantastic and I absolutely can’t wait for the sequel!

Since I finally finished reading all but Empire of Storms, I finally started Tower of Dawn. I’m about 200 pages in, and I love it so much already. While I like Aelin and her crew, I absolutely love Chaol and Nesryn. I also really liked Yrene, whom we met in The Assassin’s Blade, and since she’s a major character in the story as well, I love getting to know her more. I did finish up Invictus by Ryan Graudin. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it as much as I thought I would, but I still enjoyed it. The review for that will be up next week!

How was your reading in September? What books did you get in September? Do we share any similar books?
