Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Unique Book Titles

I think “unique” is a very subject word, so while you may not think these are unique, I do! So there’s that. 😛 Anyway, while I definitely buy books because of covers, I absolutely love book titles and finding the meaning behind them, whether it’s a direct quote from the book or speaks about the book as a whole.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. You can check out the rest of October’s topics, and even the ones for the rest of the year! (Is 2018 really that far away? 😮 )

The Gold Seer trilogy by Rae Carson || I’m a fan of phrases as book titles, it’s true. So kudos to this series for having a unique title and absolutely gorgeous covers! I’m in the middle of reading book 2 right now.

The Monsters of Verity duology by Victoria Schwab || Okay, but how telling are these titles? Dark and gritty, something with music, and wow, it’s Schwab, so it’ll probably rip your heart out.

An Ember in the Ashes quartet by Sabaa Tahir || Yessssss, more phrases as titles! And because Sabaa is brilliant, we see these titles as quotes in the book. I wonder who will be described as the Reaper…

These are both standalone novels, and I think the titles are telling in that they are turning points in the books, and become important to the characters. These are also the two Lord books I absolutely love. ❤

Another title that, I think, is very telling about the book, especially since this book is filled with retellings. How awesome is that? But again with the phrases that I love so much. Truthfully, I’m not a fan of anthologies… It just reminds me of my college days when most of the books I carried around were anthologies with the ridiculously Bible-thin pages, haha.

I absolutely love the title of Emily X.R. Pan’s debut which releases March 2018. Not only is the main character half-Asian and half-white, but I have a feeling from the title alone that there will be a lot of character growth, and I’m excited to see how that’ll be executed. Also, the cover is so gorgeous, too! ❤

Empress of a Thousand Skies duology by Rhoda Belleza || I loved EoaTS, so I cannot wait for BoaTS to release on February 2018! The first book was action-packed, and since there’s only two books in the series, I’m hoping it will be filled with just as much actions and revelations as the first book!

What are some of your favorite book titles? Don’t forget to leave your TTT in the comments, and I’ll check them out! 🙂
