Wait, only ten?! Hahahahaha. To narrow this down, I’ll focus on books that released last year I meant to get to but never did… If I don’t, this will be way longer than 10 books!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme started by The Broke and the Bookish. It will soon move to That Artsy Reader Girl. You can check out her page for the rest of the topics!
Oh gosh, don’t even get my started on how much I ought to read these books, haha! You think I don’t know?! The sequel to Wintersong releases next month, so maybe I’ll get to it soon?! Same goes for the Red Queen series. Another sequel soon! Usually this is motivation for me but… *looks at TBR* Ummm…
Have you seen how many books released in 2017?! I’m sure my TBR pile is over 150+ books long and I don’t even want to think about how long that will logically take me to read. 😆
I actually have an ARC of Want but you know… Books and ALL THE RELEASES! Truth is, I’ve heard nothing but good things about both Want and The City of Brass (which isn’t YA so that’ll be refreshing to read!). As for Renegades, people are inbetween about it but I love the concept and the synopsis sounds awesome!
And the biggest one of all…
Yes, feel free to nag me about how much to read it. I promise it’ll be one of the first books I read when I’m done with my pile of eARCs and ARCs to read. 🙈
Don’t forget to link your TTT post below! I’d love to know if we share any similarities!
I haven’t read most of these yet either. ACOWAR was really good. King’s Cage I didn’t like that much. I liked Language of Thorns. It was refreshing to go back to that world and there is one story in there that is my absolute favorite. I would love to have more of that. I hope you get to them this year.

I’m really hesitant about King’s Cage. I’m afraid I bought into the hype because while I liked both Red Queen and Glass Sword, I’m not completely in love.

That’s how I felt about them all too and King’s Cage didn’t change my thoughts. I haven’t decided if I want to read the next book yet. I probably will just to finish.

I didn’t get to The Hate U Give this year either, so it’s definitely high on my list this year! I also just started The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, and I am ADORING it so far. These are great picks!

Wintersong was pretty good, especially if you like music – it has this special whimsical vibe to it. I’m excited for Shadowsong, I’ve been trying to get an ARC of it! ACOWAR – ugh, when am I ever going to finish this book – I’m past the halfway point, but I still have over 300 pages to go and I’ve picked it up at least 5 times already.
Renegades was on my list too!
The Language of Thorns is just beyond words – such beautiful, dark, and memorable tales – Leigh Bardugo has outdone herself! So I’m even happier I got the exclusive version from Fairyloot.
I don’t know why the release date for Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer #2) hasn’t been announced yet, but I AM ANXIOUS – it is worth all the hype, let me tell you.
And I can’t wait for War Storm (Red Queen #4) – King’s Cage was pretty good, Red Queen is still my favorite though, plus I just want the ending already!
Meanwhile, I was pretty disappointed with TGGTVAV – there was a lot of hype about it and it’s contemporary but for me nothing really too worthwhile happened? I didn’t really connect with the characters or anything, but maybe that’s just me – I’m very picky with contemporaries.

TGGTVAV is a historical fiction, though.
I really hope to get to all of these books this year! I think with SHADOWSONG releasing soon, I’m definitely going to read it…soon.

😂😂😂 oops my bad. It’s so different from the other hist. fict I read, the prose is written more like a contemporary… and I’m still getting used to the genre terms, not a year ago, I call everything written by modern (living) authors contemporaries because all I read were classics 😂 thank you!

THUG, King’s Cage, and Want were all fantastic reads IMO. I included Gentleman’s Guide on my list this week as well – I really have no idea why I haven’t read that yet! I know I’m going to love it!!

So many brilliant books are on this list and I share most of them. One of my top books I really have to get to this year is Strange the Dreamer! It sounds beautiful and I love Laini Taylor’s writing so much 😊✨

I really loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone, too (I still have to read the 3rd book, though) 😅
I have high hopes for Strange the Dreamer, but with Laini Taylor’s beautiful writing it really can only be good 😍

I have yet to read those Outlander books because there are so many and they’re so long. I’m scared of them! 😉
