WWW Wednesday #5

I forget how much I like doing these posts, and it’s been a while since I’ve done one so here we go!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme started by Should Be Reading. In this blog post, I’ll answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

  • What are you currently reading?

Per usual, I’m reading one physical book and listening to one audiobook. Both I’ve checked out from the library, hehe.

I listened to Illuminae on audiobook and absolutely loved it! I loved it when audiobooks have a full cast of voice actors. (The only other one I know of that has a full cast in Graceling.) Gemina is no different, so I automatically went into it loving it, lol. I really enjoyed the first book, and so far, Gemina hasn’t disappointed. There’s twists and turns and I don’t know how it’s going to end!

Saints and Misfits has been on my radar since it released, but it’s also been pushed toward the back of my mind. My local library recently doubled their stock of this book, so I finally had the chance to check it out when I was strolling through the library book shelves. I’m only about 50 pages in, but I really like the main character, and can relate to her on a few levels. I know this book deals with tough issues, so I’m preparing myself for when that comes along.

  • What did you recently finish reading?

The Belles and In Real Life were both eARCs. I enjoyed both of them, but The Belles left me less than satisfied. I wanted to wait for my local library to have Always and Forever, Lara Jean on audiobook since I listened to the first two books that way, but then I realized I couldn’t wait. 😛 My review for In Real Life will be up tomorrow and the one for Always and Forever, Lara Jean should be up next week.

  • What do you plan on reading next?

I’ve got one eARC and one physical ARC sitting on my shelves; both are March releases.

Let’s take a moment to admire those beautiful covers. 😌

Both of these are YA contemporaries and both have received such high praise. (The Beauty That Remains has a starred review from SLJ.)  I found myself reading more contemporaries lately and I think it’s mainly due because I’m writing a YA contemporary of my own. I consider all this reading “research.” 😉

I’m trying to be good to myself by reading books I have on my shelves instead of ones from the library. I also have to stop myself from requesting books on NetGalley because I always seem to be approved for books about the time I say, “How the heck do I have so many books to read?” That’s not necessarily a problem, but it doesn’t help me get through my towering TBR. 😂

Leave your WWW in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out! 🙂
