North Texas Teen Book Festival 2018

Oh my gosh, guys/gals/friends! I could not have been any happier with this year’s North Texas Teen Book Festival! It’s such a joy to be able to attend this book festival for the third year in a year, and I must say that this is the best one I’ve attended so far!

I attended with my best friend Calye, and we went in with a game plan this time. Last year we both got overwhelmed due to all the craziness and there just being a lot of people but this year, we faired much better. We also met Mary over at Fox and Wit and boy did we make a team!

THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL Blog Tour: Review + Giveaway

Maurene captured my half-Korean heart with her sophomore novel, I Believe in a Thing Called Love, so there was no question I was eager for The Way You Make Me Feel. I even posted about the cover reveal a few months ago, and have been eager and hopeful for an ARC of some kind.

Well, the book gods have surely blessed me because I’m thrilled to be a part of this book’s blog tour! Read my review below and then enter for a chance to win a hardcopy of the book, which is open internationally!

Thanks so much to Macmillan Children’s for giving me a free, digital copy in exchange for an honest review as part of this blog tour! 🙂

FairyLoot’s March 2018 Unboxing!

Huzzah! It’s been a while since I’ve done an unboxing post simply because… Well, besides not really having the money to spend on subscription boxes, I was highly disappointed in my last book box (all the way back in July!). Regardless, as FairyLoot celebrated their 2nd anniversary this past March and since I loved last year’s anniversary box, I couldn’t miss out!

Well, I think I overestimated by joy for this box.

Review: “A Court of Wings and Ruin” by Sarah J. Maas

I’m a little late to “finishing” this series, but with the novella, A Court of Frost and Starlight, releasing on May 1, I figured the time was nigh, lol. Truthfully, I was a bit hesitant. ACoTaR isn’t my favorite series by Sarah, ToG has that spot, and due to the sexual content of this book, I always want to make sure a solid storyline exists outside of the sex. Fortunately, I see that more in ACoWaR than with the first two.

March Wrap-Up and Book Haul!

Will there ever be a time I stop saying “Better late than never”? Maybe…but today is not that day! 🙂

March was quite a surprise. I was on spring break, so I reread one of my favorite series. I also did a reread (re-listen via the audiobook?) of the first book in the Shatter Me series in prep for the release of Restore Me by Tahereh Mafi. I only recently started listening to Unravel Me so…my reread is going quite well… Haha. 😅

So far April isn’t looking bad either, but I’ve already DNFed a book, the first this year. I’ve got a bunch of eARCs to read, too, and I’m trying to focus on reading books from my own shelves instead of the library. Um, right.

2018 Houston Teen Book Con (& more)!

Hey, all! I meant to write this post earlier but then got…distracted. 😅

For the first time I attended the Teen Book Con in the greater Houston area during my spring break. It was a 7+ hour trip in the car, so kudos to my husband for driving the entire time and dealing with all that traffic! 🙃 Besides being a spring break trip, this was actually my husband’s birthday gift to me. I had such a great time, too, so I’m really glad I had the chance to attend.
