Yes, I know I’m supposed to be on hiatus, and technically, I still am. But I wanted to post about meeting Victoria Aveyard and Rebecca Ross for the War Storm book tour which came through my home state a few weeks ago.
(I also post a few eARC reviews in the coming weeks as well. 🙂 )
So…here’s the thing: I’ve contemplated a hiatus for a while now. I actually meant to take one back in January, soon after my birthday, but that never came to fruition. I was serious at work on revising the final draft on my book, and I was getting in over my head with the whole blogging, bookstagramming, writing, and working full-time.
I think it’s finally come head-to-head, and I realize I need to take a hiatus or else my brain might just explode. Work is and will continue to get busy. I’m in the middle of rereading a bunch of books because sequels keep coming out. And I want to focus more on my writing as well.
Happy Tuesday, friends! A week ago today I headed over to my local independent bookstore for one of the stops on the Epic Reads Spring Tour! I went to a similar event last year at the same location (you can read my blog post about that time here), but this time, it was a panel instead of a round Robin event.
Look! I finally got around to reading this book! (Mainly because the author was touring near me for the Epic Reads Spring Tour.) I kind of wish I had read it sooner because this book is completely adorable!
Another month in 2018 gone already! I can’t believe it! I’ve just got two more months of work until I’m on summer break, too. (Yes, I’m already counting down the days, so sue me. 😛 )
But that’s not what we’re here to talk about, is it?! I knew April would be fairly “good” in terms of book buying, especially with the North Texas Teen Book Festival just a couple of weeks ago. I won’t be quite as generous this month (my wallet will thank me), but there are two signings I plan to go during this month, and I’ve already pre-ordered two books for that event so…yeah. 🙂
Technically, this topic is “books with your favorite color on the cover (or in the title). So I’m going to do a mix of both… Because I can. 🙂 I’ll also try to feature books I’ve read, some of my favorites, and books I’m excited for.

How do I even begin to write a review about this book? Like, is it possible to die and be resuscitated multiple times throughout a book? If so, well, I can’t believe I made it to the end. I wasn’t sure how Amie and Jay could pull off an ending to a phenomenal series, but I’m not disappointed at all!
I’m so happy I got this box. I haven’t been a subscriber to OwlCrate since I was disappointed in their July 2017 box, which was actually the last time I got a book subscription box. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this box, though the theme sounded perfect! I’m thrilled to report OwlCrate’s April box was absolutely amazing!
And now that it’s May (*insert Justin Timberlake meme here*), I can show you all of the contents! Usually I wait a few more days just in case some people still haven’t received their box but… I can’t help myself! 🤪
