I couldn’t resist this Top Ten Tuesday! There are a ton of amazing books coming out this year, and it’s no secret we readers would do some crazy things to get our hands on our favorites early!
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme started by The Broke and the Bookish, but is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
Yes, I know From Twinkle with Love comes out this month but still! I had a chance to try to get an ARC during the North Texas Teen Book Festival, but there wasn’t a set schedule for when the publisher booth was handing out ARCs, so I completely missed it!
After the thrill that was Hunting Price Dracula and Iron Gold, I wish I had some sort of magical powers to get these books in my hands NOW.
Dark of the West has been on my radar ever since I saw it compared to The Winner’s Curse. Now we all know how much I love that series. It was actually scheduled to be published on May 1 (today!), but a few weeks ago, the author announced via her Instagram that it was being pushed back until February 2019 due to a cover change. Quite frankly, I’m really surprised it’ll be nearly a year, but as I’m not a huge fan of the original cover, I Hope we get something real good.
I am living for the final book in the Lady Helen series. The second book, The Dark Days Pact, left me wanting so much! Like, if Lady Helen and Lord Carlston don’t get together, I might have some WORDS with Alison Goodman!
I can’t wait to dive back into the world of The Remnant Chronicles with Mary E. Pearson’s new book, Dance of Thieves.
Since the following books don’t have covers yet, I’m just going to list them:
7) Wildcard by Marie Lu — The second and final book in the Warcross duology. Warcross left us with a huge cliffhanger, so I’m eager to see how Lu will wrap up this amazing series!
8) Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo — Can I just say how much I love the titles of Maurene’s books?
9) Gumiho by Kat Cho — The synopsis reads: “Set in modern-day Seoul and based on Korean mythology. A girl who must kill to survive falls in love with a boy after she rescues him from a goblin, changing the course of her immortal life.” Like HELLO. I NEEDED THIS YESTERDAY.
Last and not least (and whose cover was just released yesterday…)
King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo! *screaming* I just can’t wait to return to the Grishaverse! I’m not sure I can love Leigh anymore, but I know she’s going to blow us away with this book (and series)! She’s already stated that there won’t be ARCs, but there will definitely be samplers! King of Scars releases on January 29, 2019, which is my birthday month so I’m obviously going to buy that book, haha!
What books would you die to get your hands on early? I’ll just add them to my ever-growing list, LOL!
Haha, I was lucky and got to read From Twinkle with Love early, it was such a fun read!
YEEESSS, I definitely would love an early copy of King of Scars!! Another one would be The Wicked King by Holly Black, I was absolutely enthralled by The Cruel Prince. I tried requesting an e-ARC over at Edelweiss+ but unfortunately, I wasn’t approved for it. I recently resubmitted a requested with better stats, so fingers crossed they don’t reject me again (I’ll just keep knocking, haha!!)
