Happy Tuesday, friends! A week ago today I headed over to my local independent bookstore for one of the stops on the Epic Reads Spring Tour! I went to a similar event last year at the same location (you can read my blog post about that time here), but this time, it was a panel instead of a round Robin event.
This event featured Julie Murphy, Becky Albertalli, and Katie Cotugno. I’ve actually never heard of Katie until this event, and I’ve only heard of one of her books, 99 Days. She was here promoting its companion novel, 9 Days and 9 Nights.
Julie Murphy’s Puddin’ had just released the day before, and I bought my copy at the bookstore as part of the requirement to have a book signed. 🙂 I really enjoyed Dumplin’ so I’m excited to read this companion novel.
I simply adored The Upside of Unrequited, so when I heard that Becky was coming, I eagerly started Simon vs, finishing it just a few days before the event. I bought Leah on the Offbeat not too long ago and got it signed, too. I’m so excited to have all of Becky’s books signed. 🙂
This is actually my second time meeting Julie. She’s so freakin’ hilarious. All of the ladies were wonderful, and I loved their answers to the audience’s questions. I loved that this was a panel, too. And because of the small, quaint atmosphere, I found this signing to be very personable. Julie, Becky, and Katie took their time with each person. I like that, too, because nothing seems rushed either.
I also love the small bits of swag authors bring. 🙂 I really need to buy a big cork board to display the swag I’ve collected over the years, hehe.
I hope Epic Reads continues to send authors to this bookstore. It’s nice not having to drive 3.5+ hours to see authors, and it was a quick drive after work!
