Meeting the Author: Laini Taylor || MUSE OF NIGHTMARES Tour!

Going to see Laini Taylor was a bit of a whim. I’m currently transitioning jobs (my last day is today!), and I said I wouldn’t go unless I got this new job. Laini was in the Dallas area, which is a 3.5 hour drive as well.

Needless to say, I did get the job, and I did go see Laini Taylor as part of her Muse of Nightmares book tour. 🙂 It was a lot of fun, and I met a few people there as well, which really made it well worth it.

Meeting the Author: Marie Lu || WILDCARD Book Tour

My oh my, can you imagine my shock when I learned that Marie Lu was coming to my neck of woods? Sure, we get authors but not many young adult authors, let alone big name ones. I had previously met Marie Lu during North Texas Teen Book Festival a few years ago, and then saw her again for her Warcross book tour. It was such a delight to be able to meet her again for the Wildcard book tour and to get my book signed!

Review: “The Bitter Kingdom” by Rae Carson

If you’re craving an immersive fantasy, I suggest you pick up the first book in this series, The Girl of Fire and Thorns. I listened to this trilogy via audiobook, and it was an enjoyable read. I admit I was hesitant to read Rae Carson again, as I had previously read her Gold Seer Trilogy. Though I enjoyed that trilogy, it wasn’t enough to endear me to read Carson’s earlier works. However, with some motivation from various online friends, I took the plunge.
