Okay, I don’t feel like it’s quite the end of the year yet… So I’m gonna squeeze the first couple months of 2019 into my TBR as well because I can! lol I’m not sure if this post should include books releasing in the winter but… I’m just gonna make it books that I really need to get to reading.
Top 10 Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. You can check out the topics here!
I feel like this might just be a repeat of some of my other TBR-related posts but… I’m not mad about it. This is just my monthly-ish reminder that I really need to read these books. LOL
I finished Strange the Dreamer a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I listened to it via audiobook (because the narrator is Steve West–hello!), and plan to continue the seriesthis way.
One of the things I really love about Taylor’s writing is her world-building. It’s utterly fantastic, and I love the play on gods and monsters here in the same way she toyed with angels and demons in her Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. I can’t imagine what else Taylor has in store for her readers, but you can bet I’ll be there!
I’d really like to re-read this series before King of Scars releases next month. This is where we first meet Nikolai. I’m the type of reader who wonders what happens at the end of a trilogy, especially in one like this where the ending is sort of up in the air in terms of what happens to our beloved characters. I’m not sure I’ll reread the Six of Crows duology–where will I find the time?–but I for sure want to reread this!
I think I may have included this in previous posts but… I still need to read this series. Now that QoAaD is out, I feel like I can binge read this if the series is good enough. But I also have that “hyped series” fear… You know when a series is so hyped you afraid it’s going to be bad? Yep. I’ve been both pleased and disappointed with hyped series.
I’m not quite sure how I feel about this series. I stopped in the middle of my reread of Glass Sword and simply haven’t bothered to pick it back up again. My looming TBR is really the main problem since GS is a reread so I can simply progress in this series. I heard it gets better with each book but right now… I’m indifferent. I’ll trek through though!
I received this book in October’s OwlCrate. I love that it’s inspired by a non-Western setting, and I hope to enjoy it since I never finished Kagawa’s Talon series. I believe I stopped reading after book 2 because I wasn’t holding my attention. But I’m always willing to give authors another chance with a new series, so…!
I know I don’t normally feature non-fiction books, but this is one that’s been on my TBR for a while. I really want to listen to it via audiobook because it’s narrated by the author himself. I’ve watched Trevor a great deal on his talk show, and I love his outside perspective and the culture he comes from and how he uses that in his discourse to teach and learn.
One of my problems with TBRs is that I don’t follow them often. I’m a mood reader, and just pick up whatever I want to read. But I’m crossing my fingers I follow this goal, and I could use y’all’s help to remind me! You can badger me over on Twitter or Instagram!
