WWW Wednesday #10

One of my goals for 2019 is to be a little better about writing content for my blog. It’s a good goal to achieve, but also one I’m hesitant about because I really ran out of steam toward the end of 2018. I hope that since I’ve decided on a reading goal of 50 this year, I won’t feel so strained or push to create content I’m not happy with, or that just feel repetitive.

Anywho! That’s not what you can for, right? 😉

WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. In this post I will answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Well, that one’s easy!

I was listening to LM via audiobook but since I had to return the loan, I picked up a physical copy (I mean, I do own one after all). I’m enjoying the read, and I love the humorous undertones and the dedication and loyalty of the characters. Julian’s internal struggle is wild, and I just can’t wait to see what else the series will bring.

I picked up Reign after participating in last week’s MTMC Twitter chat, hosted by Melissa of The Reader and Chef and Rebeca of The Life of a BookNerd Addict. Bookish Twitter chats are some of my favorite since readers just come together, ready to gush about books! This particular chat featured Reign’s sequel, Song of the Dead. Truthfully, I’ve had the book on my shelf for some time but didn’t bother to pick it up. However, as soon as the chat ended, I started reading it and haven’t stopped! It’s incredibly unique and engrossing. I hope I’ll enjoy the entire book, so I can eagerly pick up Song!

What did you recently finish?

You can read my gushing review of The Gilded Wolves here. I adored it, and I plan on buying it the day it releases! I’ve seen this described as SIX OF CROWS meets THE DA VINCI CODE, but I like to think it’s SoC meets ASSASSIN’S CREED but…with less killing, haha.

I only started reading TftSA because I heard you ought to read it before starting Lady Midnight. Simon isn’t my favorite character. But then again, TMI isn’t my favorite of the Shadowhunter world though yes, it did start it all. I always thought Simon was just a meh character. I will say my opinion about him has changed. I’m still not sure I’ll post a full review on my blog as this is an anthology of short stories, something I have a difficulty reviewing (I know I can do better if I put my mind to it but alas, I’m lazy).

What do you think you’ll read next?

I have a few books in mind. I’m not sure if I’ll jump into Lord of Shadows right away, as I have a few physical and eARC to read. With that in mind…

I have a physical copy of The Girl King that Mary kindly sent my way, but reviews from Destiny and Vicky have made me unsure about it. However, I have been looking forward to this book for a while, so I think I’ll end up reading it.

Both of these books release today so… I guess better late than never!

What have you been reading lately? Feel free to let me know in the comments!
