It’s that time already, and look at me, I’m not posting this weeks late… Hahahaha.
Let’s dive right in!
First off, the wrap-up!
Whew, I can’t believe I finished 7 books in April.
Defy Me (Shatter Me #5) by Tahereh Mafi – ★★★★ 1/2
You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn (eARC) – ★★★★
Becoming by Michelle Obama (audiobook) – ★★★★★
A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes #3) by Sabaa Tahir (reread, audiobook) – ★★★★★
The Kingdom of Copper (The Daevabad Trilogy #2) by S.A. Chakraborty (ARC) – ★★★★
Puddin’ (Dumplin’ #2) by Julie Murphy (audiobook) – ★★★★ 1/2
King’s Cage (Red Queen #3) by Victoria Aveyard (audiobook) – ★★★ 1/2
It was actually a pretty good reading month, but you can see how many audiobooks I’ve listened to and how much that helps my reading goal. My goal for the year is 50 books. I’m already halfway through so I might bump it up to 60, which is really more than I expected this year. I normally have a reading slump toward the end of the year (I did last year at least), which was one of the reasons why I made my goal lower than 2018.
Now the book haul.
I treated myself a bit this month. Not only was it my wedding anniversary month but it was also Independent Bookstore Day, so I thought it was only appropriate to celebrate well. 😉 I am super excited to read all these books. Lovely War sounds so interesting; The Tiger at Midnight supposedly has a slow burn romance; and most of these authors are debuts. I’m determined to work diligently on the eARCs and physical ARCs I have in order to get back to my actual physical TBR on my bookshelves. (Someone please hold me to that! 😛 )
I hope April was a good month for you, even if you didn’t read a lot (which is perfectly fine)!
On a side note, I received OwlCrate’s “Finale” special edition box and will post an unboxing soon. Not this week because I don’t have time, but perhaps next week!
