It’s been a long time since I’ve done an unboxing, but I’m excited to reveal the items in OwlCrate’s “Finale” special edition box! This is the first time I’ve bought a special edition box of any kind. They’re more expensive than a regular subscription, but the items are so beautiful, I found it totally worth it.
Of course, if you haven’t received your box, this post contains spoilers!
Starting from the left, we have a gorgeous candle made by Rose and Adder. I’ve never bought anything from this particular candle company, but it smells amazing and the inside of the candle is absolutely beautiful! Then we have a set of playing cards inspired by the Caraval world’s Deck of Destiny. The artist who collaborated on this particular set include Nicole Deal, Gina Hilton, Salome Totladze, Diana Dworak, and Michelle Gray.
Next up is a shower steamer made by Leeloo Soap. It smells amazing, too. Then there’s a gorgeous enamel pin made by Alchemy and Ink. Each OwlCrate box came with one enamel pin inspired by either of the three books in the series. I got Legendary, and I just love it!
And of course we have the OwlCrate edition of Finale. I gotta be honest, guys, I’m not sure I like this exclusive cover. Yes, the design is still the same but the colors are not my favorite. The original cover’s colors seem to match better with the series, with its purple, silver, and yellow. Barnes and Noble also has an exclusive edition of Finale which I saw in stores the other day… I’m still debating about whether or not I want to buy that edition as I think about this OwlCrate cover.
The item on the far right is a book tin designed by Stella Bookish Art. It’s gorgeous and I love the art and quotes on it but again, I don’t think I’ll use this item.
I wanted to show off how beautiful the candle is so I snapped a picture of the inside.
Next up there are two beautiful art prints:
I’m really excited to frame these and every time I take a look, I take a moment to admire them because they are just so beautiful. Mélanie Bourgeois did a stunning job with these.
Lastly, we have a tote designed by Evie Bookish and a pillowcase by Catarina Book Designs. While I like totes, I’m not a fan of this design or the shape of the tote. That might sound silly, but it’s a little too long and not as wide as I would like. As for the pillowcase, it’s beautiful but I don’t use decorative pillowcases so… Not really for me. 😛
Now for all of it together…
It’s so pretty when it’s all together! 🙂
Overall, I enjoyed this box. I thought every single item was stunningly beautiful, and while every item is not for me, I didn’t expect it to be. Perhaps this is where people are disappointed with sub boxes in that they expect to like every item. For me, that’s very rare, and I can only think of one book box where I found a use for all the items.
In terms of price, yes, this special edition box was more expensive than a regular box. The regular box is around $37 (I included shipping in the price). This particular special edition box rounded up to $48 (again, I included shipping in the price), which comes to a $11 difference. I thought the items were well worth what you paid for as if you bought all of these items individually, it would have to be near or over $100.
