WWW Wednesday #19

WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. In this post I will answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

The last WWW Wednesday of the year! 😭 Can you even believe it? Well, I ought to really stop saying that because I’m pretty sure I’ve said it too much, LOL.

What are you currently reading?

I started The Queen’s Rising on audiobook this past weekend and to be honest, I’m not quite sure what to think of it yet. I like the storyline and the world-building and I think we’re finally get to the “good” bits. But at the same time there’s romantic tension between two characters that seems…inappropriate. I’m trying to figure out if I’m projecting my own modern day society thinking into the story.

I’ve had Reverie as physical ARC and I saw it didn’t release until January 2020 only to see that… It’s actually out already! The release date on the ARC was wrong and I took it for face value and didn’t even pay attention. So…alas. I’m only about 60 pages in and I’m really intrigued! The synopsis describes the book as Inception meets The Magicians. There’s a murder mystery element, too, which automatically intrigues me.

What did you recently finished reading?

I adored The Bromance Book Club! I still consider myself “new” in the new adult romance book world, but I really enjoyed how this book focused on a crumbling marriage. The two main characters have children as well, so it’s interesting to see how they work together for their kids.

Dark of the West was a reread. I was approved for the sequel, Storm from the East, an eARC on NetGalley, and knew I needed to go into it fresh.

I picked up This Adventure Ends on a bit of a whim. I’ve had the book on my shelves for a while now. I remember enjoying Mills’ First & Then so I had high hopes for This Adventure Ends. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it’s filled with humor, sadness, and grief but I just simply wasn’t enamored. I ended up putting my copy in the donate pile.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I know for sure I’ll read Storm from the East and Tweet Cute, but other than that… I think every book on my shelf is fair game. 😂 I’m really excited to have a week and a half off work and despite it being for the holidays, I hope to get a decent amount of reading done. I’m 8 books away from completing my Goodreads goal of 100 books this year so… *crosses fingers*

Tell me all about the books you’ve read or plan to read in the comments! I’d love to know.
