We made it! We survived the first month of 2020 and let me tell you, it felt looooooong. Please tell me I’m not the only one who thought this? It felt like there were 60 days in January! Seriously!
Anyway, I set my Goodreads goal to 100 books for 2020. I didn’t quite make it last year, but I have higher hopes this year. So far, I think we’re off to a great start (even though Goodreads already tells me I’m 1 book behind schedule).
First off, the wrap-up!
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer – ★★★★ 1/2
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater (audiobook) – ★★★ 1/2
Diamond City by Francesca Flores (ARC) – ★★
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner (audiobook) – ★★★ 1/2
Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen (ARC) – ★★
Temporary Wife Temptation by Jayci Lee (eARC) – ★★★ 1/2
Nyxia Uprising by Scott Reintgen (audiobook) – ★★★
The Queen’s Assassin by Melissa de la Cruz (ARC) – ★★
My favorite read for January was definitely A Curse So Dark and Lonely. It definitely lived up to the hype for me. I’ve got a few ARCs to get through before I can sit down and read the sequel but I hope that’ll be soon!
Now for the book haul!
The only book I forgot to include in this picture is Supernova by Marissa Meyer. My husband bought it for me as a birthday gift. Actually, most of these books were birthday gifts! Some I traded on Facebook BST groups. I actually bought The Starless Sea last year but because the author wasn’t touring around me until January, I didn’t pick up the book until the day of the book signing.
I’m really happy to have the collector’s edition of A Court of Thorns and Roses and the Illumicrate edition of Blood Heir (which has stained pages to look like blood). Both are beautiful editions!
How was January for you? I hope you didn’t stress about not reading enough and just enjoyed the books you did read. Let me know in the comments. 🙂
