WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. In this post I will answer the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
I’d like to say that my reading has been off the charts due to the quarantine but to be honest, it’s been rather normal, lol. I think mainly because I’m not spending all my time reading. I’m telecommuting and also got this Nintendo Switch game you might have heard about called “Animal Crossing”? Yeah… 🙃
That’s not important though (despite being a very welcome distraction).
What are you currently reading?
I’m listening to The Beautiful on audiobook. I like it so far, though the narrator does a bit of polarizing job. Her accents for some of the characters are kind of off (some she does well while others…not), and she reads entire chapters of a mystery character super slow.
Y’all know how I feel about The Silence of Bones since I’ve been waiting about it (and maybe even talking about it?) for such a loooong time. Fierce Reads was kind enough to send me a physical ARC when I requested it so… Your girl is diving in and not coming back up for air.
What did you recently finish reading?
My review for The Perfect Escape went up last week, so if you’re interested in a rom-com, escape room with zombies, this may be the book for you. The Crown’s Game was a reread so I can actually start reading the sequel, The Crown’s Fate. I ended up giving it the same rating I initially did when I first read it three years ago (but listening to Steve West narrate the audiobook was a real treat).
Girls Save the World in This One was a fun read featuring strong female friendships, also centered around zombies though the girls in this book attend a con about their favorite zombie TV show only for actual zombies to show up. What a ride! My review for this book will be posted tomorrow. 🙂
What do you think you’ll read next?
Well, it’s a bit of a toss up but I know for certain I’ll pick up this book:
It releases on April 28. With the way the world is looking, I’m fairly certain we’ll all still be at home at the end of the month so… It’s a way for me to work through the ARCs I have. This ARC I didn’t get from the publisher, but picked it up from my local indie bookstore (no, I did not buy it).
I’ve also got 2 May releases sitting on my shelf too:
I’m not sure if I’ll go straight into reading May releases or if I’ll start something else. Ah, the indecisiveness of a bookworm. 😅
What have you been reading? If you do these WWW Wednesday posts as well, I’d love to check them out. Leave yours in the comments!
I hope you love The Silence of Bones. That title makes so curious!
