June ’20 Wrap-up and (No) Book Haul!

Yay, we made it through the first half of 2020! To say it’s not gone as people expected would probably be an understatement. πŸ˜… But hey, at least it’s all down from here.

I felt like June was really slow, but was surprised to see I’ve read a total of 6 books. I really thought it was less. Not that it matters really… I’m still on track to finish my goal of reading 100 books this year.

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin (A Song of Wraiths and Ruin #1) by Roseanne A. Brown (ARC) – β˜…β˜…β˜… 1/2
Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross (ARC) – β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…
Where Dreams Descend (Kingdom of Cards #1) by Janella Angeles (ARC) – β˜…β˜…
The Paper Girl of Paris by Jordyn Taylor – β˜…β˜…β˜… 1/2
Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson – β˜…β˜…
Archenemies (Renegades #2) by Marissa Meyer – β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

My most disappointing read in June was definitely Where Dreams Descend. If you’ve seen me talk about it (or read my review), you’d know I was so pumped, especially since with comp titles like The Phantom of the Opera and Moulin Rouge. Alas, it simply did not hold my attention.

The most surprising read for June was Sisters of Sword and Song. I was hesitant about it because I didn’t care of Ross’s The Queen’s Rising (I didn’t even bother to continue the series).

I guess there may have been no point in me writing this post since I don’t have a book haul but truthfully… This whole pandemic caused me to examine my finances a little more closely, and books don’t fit into that budget or take priority right now. Not to mention the local library has opened up (in phases) so I have a lot of holds coming in. I’m also trying to catch up on both physical and e-ARCs. So… yay for unintentional book-buying ban? Or something like that…

Let me know how your reading went in June! Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my posts. I try to reply as often as I can, but sometimes I forget, lol.
