Top 10 Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases for the First Half of 2021

A weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Wait, I have to choose only ten? This will be…difficult but let’s go!

A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer – January 26th – The third and final book in the Cursebreakers series. I read A Curse So Dark and Lonely this time last year in prep for the release of A Heart So Fierce and Broken and meeting the author for its release. I absolutely love this book and it’s one of my favorite Beauty and the Beast retellings. If you pre-ordered the book, you can submit your receipt for a patch!

Sing Me Forgotten by Jessica S. Olson – March 9th – A gender-bent Phantom of the Opera retelling? I mean, do I need to say more? You can pre-order the book from the local indie bookstore in town.

Flamefall by Rosaria Munda – March 23rd – This is the second book in the Fireborne trilogy. I read the first book as an ARC and loved it SO much. You can pre-order the book here.

The following three books are all April releases:

Pride and Premeditation is a P&P re-telling but add murder! I’m all for P&P retellings so of course I had to add this to my TBR. Pre-order the book here before its release on April 6!

I loved Hur’s debut novel, The Silence of Bones, so I am equally excited for her sophomore novel, The Forest of Stolen Girls. It’s a historical mystery that takes place in Korea. Check it out here.

Southern Sun, Northern Star is the final book in the Glass Alliance trilogy, a light fantasy novel that reads like a historical novel. It’s amazing, and so well-thought out and written. I don’t know what will happen to Ali and Athan, and I’m dreading to find out, but I’m excited to return to the world. You can check out my reviews of Dark of the West and Storm from the East but there may be spoilers!

Lastly for the YA portion, these are two May releases.

I’m always gonna shout Korean-American authors so of course I’m excited about Made in Korea! Two Korean-American teens have rival K-pop beauty brands, each with their own goals, who eventually realize they’re falling for each other! This doesn’t release until May 18th, so there’s plenty of time to pre-order.

Pumpkin is the third novel in the Dumplin’ universe. I absolutely adore those books (and the Netflix movie) so there’s no question that I’m just as excited about this book! Although it doesn’t revolve around the same characters, I believe we do still get a glimpse of them. Do yourself a favorite and pre-order this book!

This will be more than 10, but I wanted to highlight two non-YA books I’m excited about, mostly new adult romances.

Make Up Break Up is the first new adult romance novel from YA author Sandhya Menon. Obviously she’s using a pen name. I absolutely love her YA contemporaries so there was no question (again) that I would support her new adult work. This book releases on February 2 (less than 4 weeks)!

If you’ve been following me, you may be tired of hearing me talk about Act Your Act, Eve Brown. It’s the third (and final?) book in the Brown Sisters trilogy and I so love the first two books that I am EAGER for this book! Fortunately (or unfortunately?) we don’t have to wait too long because it releases on March 9!

What books are y’all excited for this first half of 2021? Let me know in the comments!
