WWW Wednesday #28

I thought I wrote one of these last month but apparently I didn’t, so here we are. 🤪

WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. In this post I will answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I started both of these just yesterday! I reread Iron Gold sometime last year, thinking I would get to DA quickly. I don’t own a physical copy and it’s such a hefty read, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to tackle to the audiobook. Well, joke’s on me because I borrowed the audiobook from the library! lol

I have an eARC of Flamefall, and recently finished the audiobook of the first book, Fireborne. It’s just as good as I remember and per usual, I’m glad I reread it because I forgot…a lot. That always seems to happen. So many books to read that sometimes the good ones get pushed out of my brain to make room for others!

I look forward to diving deep into both of these books!

What did you recently finish reading?

In the wake of the upcoming release of A Court of Silver Flames, I wanted to read A Court of Frost and Starlight just in case there was anything essential from there that I may have needed to know going into ACOSF (there isn’t, FYI, so if you want to do the same thing I do, you don’t have to). I finished ACOSF this past Monday night and have…thoughts that are still stewing. I hope once I get them down into words I’ll post a review here on the blog.

As I stated above, I reread Fireborne in prep for Flamefall. Am I bitter about the cover change? … Yeah. Alas. I mean, I like both covers but wish they had just stuck with one or the other.

What do you think you’ll read next?

This one is a bit up in the air, to be quite honest. I’ve got a few more eARCs but they don’t publish until April or May. But since I recently reread We Hunt the Flame, I want to read its sequel, We Free the Stars.

I found that I enjoyed the first book more during my reread, so I’m eager to see what the final book holds, along with the author’s other projects.

I think this is a pretty short list compared to the other WWW Wednesday posts I’ve done, lol. I was stuck at home for about two weeks due to freak winter storm that dropped at least two feet of snow, and I managed to get a decent amount of reading done. It reminded me of the early days of the pandemic when I worked from home from March until June. Alas, I sort of miss it.
