December ’20 Wrap-up and Book Haul!

If I haven’t said it yet, Happy New Year and welcome to 2021! I was on holiday break for 2.5 weeks and spent a lot of time trying to catch up on my Goodreads reading goal (but I didn’t reach it). Because of that, I’m pretty sure I read more books last month than any other months in 2020.

A special shoutout to historical romance and new adult romance for helping me reach that goal, LOL. (As you’ll soon see.)

Also, apparently I didn’t do a wrap-up and book haul for November… So… oops! Sorry if you were looking forward to that.

WWW Wednesday #26

Apparently I didn’t write one of these for October so… here I am, writing one for November! 🙃 I think I said before that October seemed like such a long month, and now it seems like November is flying by. Time is a weird concept. Okay, I’m babbling. Let’s just get to it. 🤪

Top 10 Tuesday: Best Books I Read in 2018

Happy New Year! It’s officially 2019! How wild!

I always feel nostalgic looking back at the previous year, even more so since I feel like a lot happened in my personal life, too. Husband and I bought a house, I got a new job, I became an aunt for the third time (but my first nephew!)… So yeah. 🙂 Anyway, that’s not why y’all came here is it? To read about how sappy I am! lol

T5W: Best Books I’ve Read (So Far) in 2018

Gosh, this means we’re actually half-way through 2018! How is that possible? I can believe it though, because it’s always 100+ degrees outside where I live. So yes, summer is NIGH and won’t disappear any time soon. 😬

To determine the best books I’ve read so far, I chose the books I rated 5 stars on Goodreads. I was going to go with 4.5 or higher, but I have more than 5 of those! But at 5 stars, there are exactly 5. Haha. The book gods are in my favor!

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted over on Goodreads. You can check out the group and topics here.

ARC Review: “A Reaper at the Gates” by Sabaa Tahir

I don’t know what to say, or how to even write the right words to convey how I feel. A Repear at the Gates was one of my most anticipated releases of 2018. When luck swung my way a few weeks ago and I managed to get an ARC, my heart burst with joy.

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting this third installment of the Ember Quartet, you won’t be disappointed. My heart has been equally stomped on, burst from pure happiness, swooning with absolute emotion. I know Sabaa is a great writer–there’s simply no question–and she’s been one of my favorite authors since I first read An Ember in the Ashes. But A Reaper at the Gates has sealed Sabaa as a master storyteller and destroyer of my heart.

Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Unique Book Titles

I think “unique” is a very subject word, so while you may not think these are unique, I do! So there’s that. 😛 Anyway, while I definitely buy books because of covers, I absolutely love book titles and finding the meaning behind them, whether it’s a direct quote from the book or speaks about the book as a whole.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. You can check out the rest of October’s topics, and even the ones for the rest of the year! (Is 2018 really that far away? 😮 )
