Heavens me, I can’t believe this is really the end! I was absolutely thrilled to return to the world of Legend and see what Day and June were up to. Now we also have Eden in the picture, and I found the dynamic quite interesting.
This review is long overdue! I actually finished it a couple of months ago and have been meaning to post a full review about it but… Life got in the way, along with the business of the holidays!
My oh my, can you imagine my shock when I learned that Marie Lu was coming to my neck of woods? Sure, we get authors but not many young adult authors, let alone big name ones. I had previously met Marie Lu during North Texas Teen Book Festival a few years ago, and then saw her again for her Warcross book tour. It was such a delight to be able to meet her again for the Wildcard book tour and to get my book signed!
Oh man, where do I even begin? How can I write a review for a favorite series by one of my favorite authors? It’s a little bittersweet to be honest.
A huge shoutout to the person who shall remain nameless for trading this ARC with me. I’m eternally grateful, especially since I was able to get it (and a finished copy) signed when I saw Marie a few weeks ago as part of her book tour.
Well, doing this post was a no brainer, with fantasy as my go-to genre. 🙂

I find this topic broad and very subjective, obviously, so I figure I’d take a look at some of my favorite authors in a variety of genres and discuss why I like them and what I admire about them, not just their writing skills. Let’s see how this goes. 😉
You know, there’s just something different about going to a book festival or convention versus going to an author’s book signing/book tour. I feel like the book tour atmosphere is a lot of different–less rushing and hurrying, no time to converse. So while I met Marie Lu a year and a half ago, I felt like it was so rushed. So when she went on tour for the release of Warcross and came to a city near me, I knew I had to go. How could I not? Not only was Warcross one of my most anticipated releases for 2017, I also have all of Marie’s other books signed and Warcross completes my collection. 🙂 (That is, until she releases another book but you know… 😉 )
Wow. Where do I even begin? Marie Lu solidified her place as one of my auto-buy authors when I finished Champion. (Yes, I read The Young Elites trilogy first.) So when I first heard about Warcross, I did a little happy dance–happiness for my favorite author releasing another book and that it would definitely make my gamer girl heart very happy.
It didn’t disappoint.
