Review: “Iron Gold” by Pierce Brown

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? My anticipation for this book was raw and pure joy. I think I did a fine job for myself by pre-ordering it as a birthday gift, considering it released the day before my birthday, lol. The book gods and Pierce Brown have blessed me tenfold and more.

T5W: Books I’ve Read Because of #bookstagram

I’ve always been an avid reader, but I wasn’t much of a collector. That is, until I joined the lovely community of readers on Instagram (also commonly referred to as #bookstagram and #bookstagrammers). I joined over 2 years ago, and wow, it’s been a great way to connect with other readers and to see how seriously talented photographers fellow bibliophiles are!

Anyway, I thought this was a fun topic because there areĀ so many books I’ve picked up since I’ve seen them on Instagram–definitely some I would have never bothered to read otherwise!

T5W is a Goodreads group. You can check out the topics or join here.

Top Ten Tuesday: New-to-Me Authors I Read for the First Time in 2016

Yay! So I’m back to regular blogging now that NaNoWriMo is over! I’m currently working on a non-bookish post about my progress with NaNoWriMo and other things so keep an eye out for that soon!

Gosh, guys, I can’t believe it’s December already! I know people say that all the time but seriously, it’s almost Christmas! This makes me both excited and shocked that 2016 went by so quickly. But with the passing of December also comes January and… My birthday! I’ll be 28 in a little over a month. That’s crazy to think about to.

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Review: “Morning Star” (Red Rising #3) by Pierce Brown

Ah, I can’t believe this series is over! It’s been a long and good ride. A series I wasn’t sure I would enjoy because of the genre but I ended up loving it and so glad I did read it. I’m excited that Brown is writing another series in the same world (Iron Gold is expectedĀ to releaseĀ sometime next year).

I tried to do a spoiler-free review but I may have gotten carried away. No .gifs this time though! XD

Review: “Golden Son” (Red Rising #2) by Pierce Brown

After I finished listening toĀ Red Rising, I reservedĀ Golden Son right away and was so flippin’ excited to dive right back into the series.

I’m so glad I have the change to read such a great amount of books that have turned the tides for me in genres that I didn’t initially like. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’ve just read crappy books in that genre so I just decided then and there that I didn’t like it.

Case in point? This. Freakin’. Series. Curse you, Pierce Brown, and your writing skills. I don’t think I’ve talked to myself more or shouted randomly more than I have while listening toĀ Golden Son. I’m just a hot mess.

Spoiler-free reviews below (may include a lot of gifs though). XD

Review: “Red Rising” by Pierce Brown

Somehow I am finishing a bunch of books at once so I have to pace my reviews. XD

I actually ownĀ Red Rising but I checked it out from my local library a few weeks ago in audiobook format so I could listen to it in my car. Seriously, listening to audiobooks while driving in my car is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I find it incredibly fun to listen to what the narrator brings to the story.

The final book in this trilogy,Ā Morning Star, released a few months ago so I thought it was finally time to read the series. I’ve also heard such great things about this book so I thought I’d hop on the bandwagon! šŸ™‚

Late April/early May book haul!

I find it harder to post a weekly book haul than it is to do a sort of semi-monthly one so… Here’s some of the books I’ve gotten in the past month or so. If you follow me on Instagram, I post about it frequently because it’s just easier to snap a pic and then post it. That probably sounds like I’m neglecting my blog but I’m not. XD I’m brainstorming ideas about what to blog about while juggling work, my family, trying to find time to read, and also working on my novel (which is surprisingly getting somewhere! Maybe I should blog about that too…)

Any who, here we go! šŸ™‚
