Top 5 Wednesday: Characters on the Naughty List

I think I’ve done something fairly similar… Or maybe when I see this topic, all I can think about are villains? (I did make a Top 10 Tuesday post about villains a while back…) But I supposed this list could focus on general crappy characters, not necessarily villains.

So let’s do this!

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly blog meme started on Goodreads. You can check out the group and the topics here.

September Wrap-Up & Book Haul!

Well, I surprised myself in September by reading more books than I thought I did! I can’t necessarily be mad at that considering lately, I’ve been a semi-reading slump and it feels so weird. But in terms of a book haul, I did fairly well. I’ve put myself on a rather strict ban due to ~adulting~. October may not be as kind as September though. 😅

T5W: Books I’ve Read Because of #bookstagram

I’ve always been an avid reader, but I wasn’t much of a collector. That is, until I joined the lovely community of readers on Instagram (also commonly referred to as #bookstagram and #bookstagrammers). I joined over 2 years ago, and wow, it’s been a great way to connect with other readers and to see how seriously talented photographers fellow bibliophiles are!

Anyway, I thought this was a fun topic because there are so many books I’ve picked up since I’ve seen them on Instagram–definitely some I would have never bothered to read otherwise!

T5W is a Goodreads group. You can check out the topics or join here.

(Reread) Review: “Queen of Shadows” by Sarah J. Maas

Eeeek, am I glad that I reread this book! I mean, I knew I would love it going in, but there are certainly some things I missed. Goodness me, how could I forgot that all these characters were introduced? I read so many books each year that I suppose it’s easy to forget.

(Also, bonus fact: One year ago yesterday, I met Sarah J. Maas on the Empire of Storms book tour. You can check out that post here. 🙂 )

This review will contain spoilers. You can read my original review over on Goodreads.

Weekend Book Haul (Part 1)

Happy Monday!

After a week of spring break, I’m back at work today. I won’t get another break until July when I’m off the entire month! Gosh, I love working for a school district. It means I get almost all of the breaks that the students get. It’s a lifesaver, really because they always seem to come at a time when you really need them. 🙂

Anywho, a few weeks ago, I put myself on a book buying ban to save up money for the North Texas Teen Book Festival at the end of April. Unfortunately, I broke the ban this past weekend because I got a bunch of coupons to Half-Priced Books (which has now become one of my favorite bookstores). Monday of last week through Sunday (yesterday), I received coupons, ranging from 20% – 50% off an item. I took advantage of the 40% and 50% off coupons to buy a few books that have been sitting on my “to buy” list for a long while now.
