Review: “The Beautiful” by Renée Ahdieh

Look, y’all, I am SO SAD I wasn’t able to give this book more stars. I was crossing my fingers I’d at least give it 4 but it simply didn’t work for me. I want to continue to support this author, but it’s so hard when I haven’t been a huge fan of her works. I think I may have said it before but I don’t think Ahdieh is the author for me. I didn’t even bother to continue The Wrath and the Dawn; Flame in the Mist and Smoke in the Sun, while enjoyable, were books I didn’t fall completely in love with and ended up unhauling from my personal collection. Sadly… this book will be unhauled as well.

ARC Review: “Smoke in the Sun” by Renée Ahdieh

I was thrilled to pick up an ARC of this book while at NTTBF back in April. Funny enough, I picked up an ARC of Flame in the Mist just the year before, too. What a coincidence!

Anyway, I reread FitM before diving into its sequel, and I’m really glad I did. I’ve been rereading a lot of books this year due to sequels (*coughReaperattheGatescough*) or finales releasing (*coughWarStormcough*). I’ve quite enjoyed it because I’ve seriously forgotten so much! And since I never did read a finished copy of Flame in the Mist, I really felt like I was going into the book like it were brand new.

Omg, such a hard decision because there are so many good ones! But thankfully, I only have to focus on the first half. 😉

This is a mix of debut authors, sequels, and well-seasoned authors but all of them sound truly amazing! I can’t wait to get my hands on all of them, and thanks to my local library who has done a fantastic job getting newly released YA books, I won’t have to spend a fortune! ^_^ Continue reading

Reviews: “The Wrath & the Dawn” by Renee Ahdieh & “First & Then” by Emma Mills

Boom boom! Knocking these hyped books off my reading list one by one! 🙂 Lots of thanks to my local library (they deserve a blog post of their own soon) for also providing audiobooks. I never knew how much I could listen to on a drive to and from work. XD

Today I review the very hyped The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh, whose sequel releases on the 26th of this month and First & Then by Emma Mills, which claims to be  Pride and Prejudice meets “Friday Night Lights” thing (can’t say this is true because I’ve never watched “Friday Night Lights” so…)

Keep reading for spoiler-free reviews! 🙂
