This topic was way harder than I thought. Also, there seem to be so many titles with the word “red” in them, I tried to not include all of them!

Initially, I started this post as a “Books to Movies” theme, but the more I thought about it, the more I think so many good books would make great TV series, too, because I feel like TV series has the chance to explore the characters and story more.
Happy New Year! It’s officially 2019! How wild!
I always feel nostalgic looking back at the previous year, even more so since I feel like a lot happened in my personal life, too. Husband and I bought a house, I got a new job, I became an aunt for the third time (but my first nephew!)… So yeah. 🙂 Anyway, that’s not why y’all came here is it? To read about how sappy I am! lol

I’ve always been a reader. Well, duh, you might be thinking, but the thing is I never gave much of a thought to what I read. I picked up whatever sounded interesting. Now that I’m older, with the boom of social media and me following more bookish accounts on both Twitter and Instagram, I have become a bit…choosier with what I read. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but I often time do follow the bandwagon and read the “popular” books.
But I’ve come across some books that I really wish had been around when I was a teenager. Maybe I would have felt less awkward or…whatever if I had read them. But I’m glad I get the chance to talk about them today.

Gosh, this means we’re actually half-way through 2018! How is that possible? I can believe it though, because it’s always 100+ degrees outside where I live. So yes, summer is NIGH and won’t disappear any time soon. 😬
To determine the best books I’ve read so far, I chose the books I rated 5 stars on Goodreads. I was going to go with 4.5 or higher, but I have more than 5 of those! But at 5 stars, there are exactly 5. Haha. The book gods are in my favor!

Where do I even begin? I was immediately drawn to this book because of the main character who is biracial (half-white, half-Asian) like myself. Little did I know what a wild and heartfelt journey this book would be.
The great thing is that I won this review copy from a giveaway hosted by TheNovl. I was completely shocked when it came because 1) I never win anything, and 2) little did I think it would be one of my most anticipated releases of 2018!
Hello, all! I figured I’d keep it all together by spotlighting the books I’m most excited for that are releasing (or already released since yesterday was Tuesday) for this month!
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. It’s really simple: Just talk about the books you’re excited for! It doesn’t have to come out next week or even next month!
So here’s mine:
I forget how much I like doing these posts, and it’s been a while since I’ve done one so here we go!
WWW Wednesday is a weekly blog meme started by Should Be Reading. In this blog post, I’ll answer the following questions:
I think “unique” is a very subject word, so while you may not think these are unique, I do! So there’s that. 😛 Anyway, while I definitely buy books because of covers, I absolutely love book titles and finding the meaning behind them, whether it’s a direct quote from the book or speaks about the book as a whole.
