This may be somewhat of a subjective topic/theme. Whose to say what’s long to me is long to someone else? I think there are definitely a few titles that immediately come to mind for a lot of readers, though. I guess we’ll see for sure… 😉Continue reading

Technically the prompt is “Books That Give Off Summer Vibes” but I figure this small change doesn’t make much of a difference. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean I’ve read all these books but the covers alone make me think it could be about summer. 😛 (And some of these actually take place during summer!)Continue reading
Initially, I started this post as a “Books to Movies” theme, but the more I thought about it, the more I think so many good books would make great TV series, too, because I feel like TV series has the chance to explore the characters and story more.
I’ve always been a reader. Well, duh, you might be thinking, but the thing is I never gave much of a thought to what I read. I picked up whatever sounded interesting. Now that I’m older, with the boom of social media and me following more bookish accounts on both Twitter and Instagram, I have become a bit…choosier with what I read. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but I often time do follow the bandwagon and read the “popular” books.
But I’ve come across some books that I really wish had been around when I was a teenager. Maybe I would have felt less awkward or…whatever if I had read them. But I’m glad I get the chance to talk about them today.
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly blog meme that started as a group on Goodreads. You can check out the rest of this month’s topics and join the group here.
Technically, today’s Top 5 Wednesday post is supposed to be about books that feature road trips, but to be honest, I can’t really think of a lot that fit the topic. Instead I decided to feature books that take place during summer vacation in general.
Today’s my last week of summer vacation. Next week I hit the ground running at work after 4 weeks off! I figured it’s a good way to reminisce about my own time off. 🙂
You can join the Top 5 Wednesday group over on Goodreads, check out others’ posts, and wait for August’s topics!
God, this topic is amazing.
Truthfully, I’m not one to reread books. I know, sue me. But I just don’t. AND YET… There are books I’ve reread, and when I ignore my glaringly large TBR pile to re-read a book, you know it’s good.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. You can check out the rest of the topics here.
Is it that time already? I can’t even believe it! I feel like 2017 just started and here we are, diving right into 2018! (But that also means my birthday is soon. I’ll be 29! That doesn’t seem old to me and yet…it does, haha.)
I know this topic was a Top Ten Tuesday post a couple of weeks ago. But I wanted to wait to do it because it wasn’t quite the end of the year… But here I am, writing it just as 2018 started. Typical me. I wait until the last minute because who knows if a late December read will be included in this list?!
Anyway, here’s how I chose my top reads. I went to Goodreads and chose the books I rated 4.5 and 5 stars. That doesn’t mean they were all released in 2017–just that I read them this year. 🙂 There was actually quite a lot, so I thought I’d focus this post on the genre: today’s is contemporary.
Also, my goal was to read 90 books this year, and I surpassed it by a handful of books! Yay! I only DNFed 3 books this year, too.
I think “unique” is a very subject word, so while you may not think these are unique, I do! So there’s that. 😛 Anyway, while I definitely buy books because of covers, I absolutely love book titles and finding the meaning behind them, whether it’s a direct quote from the book or speaks about the book as a whole.
Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. You can check out the rest of October’s topics, and even the ones for the rest of the year! (Is 2018 really that far away? 😮 )
Top Ten Tuesday has been on a hiatus ever since Jamie at The Broke and the Bookish has been on maternity leave. But I’m glad to be back with the themes, and I’m really excited to share this one with you. The overall topic is “10 Book Recommendations for _________” and you can insert whatever you want. I decided to go with YA contemporaries since I used to not read them at all. But over the past year or so, I’ve definitely read some great ones, and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you! 🙂
May was a slow month for me. I’m not complaining, trust me. A while ago, I stopped posting on my bookstagram every day, which relieved me to no end. I feel as if I can finally enjoy that community again without the pressures of competing against bigger, better accounts. Anyway, that’s it’s own story.
Because of that, I’ve read a little slower and didn’t buy as many books. Well, that isn’t really the main reason… Most of it stems from ~adulting~ (I mean, I just paid hundreds of dollars to get brand new tires for my car! Bleh!) and saving for vacation next month since I’ll be on summer break.
