I’ve been struggling trying to figure out what to post about since I’m slacking when it comes to reading. Work has been busy and all I want to do when I come home is sleep. But that’s after I cook dinner, do some laundry, and take the dog out, lol.

Anyways, I decided to do a set of blog posts on some of my favorite books. I’m starting this one about some of my favorite YA book series! I’m so excited to talk about it! 😀 ❤

Review (reread): “The Winner’s Curse” by Marie Rutkoski

(And by “reread” I mean I listened to this on CD while driving to and from work. Hehe.)

Can I even talk about this series enough? Initially, I reread this because of the North Texas Teen Book Festival and the fact that the author was there, but I didn’t finish it in time. Regardless, I loved the book more than the first time I read it.

The narrator for the audiobook is Justine Eyre and she does a fantastic job narrating. I’ve learned listening to audiobooks that a narrator can really make or break it for me. (I listened to The Wrath and the Dawn on audiobook and wonder if I would have liked the book more if I had read the physical copy…) She added an accent for the Valorians while the Herrani sounded normal, which really added to the overall story.

The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski, the final book in The Winner’s Curse trilogy!

And you know what? My heart can’t handle it. I’m on the edge of my seat in anticipation, and I’m pretty sure my heart will explode, and all the feels will happen. It’s true. I unashamedly gave the first book 4 stars, and the second one a 5-star rating which I rarely give but The Winner’s Crime was flawless. Truth.

I read this series last year, and loved it. Truthfully, there aren’t many series I fall head over heels for, but this is one of them. The covers are gorgeous!
