I just want to let y’all know it’s really hard to choose only ten! There are quite a lot of books I’m looking forward to, but I decided to do the ones I’m most looking forward to if that makes sense!
Wait. You’re telling me I have to talk about the books I keep pushing aside for other books?
Here’s the thing: sometimes books have so much hype that I’m afraid when I read them, it won’t live up to the hype and I will be disappointed. It’s happened before, but I don’t like when it does, lol. I know I don’t have to like every book I read.
I’m not good at TBRs. I imagine I’ve said that multiple times before but it’s true. 😛 I’m much more of a mood reader, but I will say that seeing a physical list of what books I need to read definitely help me realize what I need to focus on and what I can have fun with. 🙂
It’s sort of eerie how often I’ve mentioned that we’re halfway done with 2019 and then blog topics like this arise! Wasn’t I just writing one for the first half of the year? Maybe I imagined that, lol.
Just so you know, it’s difficult to pick only 10!
Writing this I feel…old, lol. I don’t quite think I was reading a lot of YA ten years ago; I really just read whatever sounded good. Of course, that’s really how I read today, too. Anyway, today I’ll feature some of my favorite books that were published the last 10 years, but not necessarily ones I read during that year.
This list is probably way longer than you think it is, but stick with me.

Initially, I started this post as a “Books to Movies” theme, but the more I thought about it, the more I think so many good books would make great TV series, too, because I feel like TV series has the chance to explore the characters and story more.
I wanted to do my own little twist on today’s Top 10 Tuesday post, which is a general “favorite quotes” post.
Y’all know how much I love The Winner’s Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. I reread the series at least once a year, and every time I find something new about the books to enjoy. With the release of Rutkoski’s next book, Fall Like Thieves, next year (January 2020) which is set in the same universe as The Winner’s Trilogy, I thought it would be so fun to do this. 🙂

I say I’m a mood reader and while that’s still quite true, there are a few things that will always make me pick up a book. Most of these are books filled with tropes I love, but other than that, this post might be all over the place.
Also, let’s see if I can come up with 10… (Spoiler: I can’t.)
I’ve said so many times that I don’t do TBRs since I’m a bit of a mood reader. However, I have fair amount of ARCs (digital and physical) that I need to get through, so this will most likely be what my TBR consists of.

Now for this topic… It was bit of a struggle because I actually had to go look at my Goodreads “want to read” shelf, and man… I have 16 pages worth of books on there! How did that happen? So after this post, I’m going to purge my pile a little bit.
