I’m gonna give this theme another title: Quiet books. As in, books that seem to go under the radar or books I don’t see discuss a lot on Twitter or see pictures a lot of on bookstagram. (Or maybe I’m just behind the times?? Or read the book “too late”?? Idk!)

I thought this would be more difficult, but was pleasantly surprised when a lot of my favorite books have one-word titles. It’s amazing how that works when you just stop and take a look (at all the “shelves” you made on Goodreads because wow, so helpful).

Well, this is an interesting topic! I don’t give out 5 stars like crazy, and a book really had to be almost perfect for me to do so. (Saying that… I think I have a fair amount of books 5 stars last year, LOL.) Anyway, this quite difficult because I was only able to pick 10 books! I have so many books on my TBR (almost 400!) that it was just so hard to choose!

I just want to let y’all know it’s really hard to choose only ten! There are quite a lot of books I’m looking forward to, but I decided to do the ones I’m most looking forward to if that makes sense!

Have y’all seen the #2009vs2019 thing on Twitter? People post a picture of themselves from 2009 and one from 2019. Or the Tweet asking you’ve accomplished in the past 10 years? It’s kind of earth-shattering that we’re 1.5 months away from another decade.
Anyway, this all has a point because I get to talk about the way my reading life has changed! I’m thinking a bit more on the bigger spectrum (aka TEN YEARS), and this may not even accumulate to ten things but… here goes!
Wait. You’re telling me I have to talk about the books I keep pushing aside for other books?
Here’s the thing: sometimes books have so much hype that I’m afraid when I read them, it won’t live up to the hype and I will be disappointed. It’s happened before, but I don’t like when it does, lol. I know I don’t have to like every book I read.
I’m not good at TBRs. I imagine I’ve said that multiple times before but it’s true. 😛 I’m much more of a mood reader, but I will say that seeing a physical list of what books I need to read definitely help me realize what I need to focus on and what I can have fun with. 🙂
It’s sort of eerie how often I’ve mentioned that we’re halfway done with 2019 and then blog topics like this arise! Wasn’t I just writing one for the first half of the year? Maybe I imagined that, lol.
Just so you know, it’s difficult to pick only 10!
Writing this I feel…old, lol. I don’t quite think I was reading a lot of YA ten years ago; I really just read whatever sounded good. Of course, that’s really how I read today, too. Anyway, today I’ll feature some of my favorite books that were published the last 10 years, but not necessarily ones I read during that year.
This list is probably way longer than you think it is, but stick with me.
