I will start off by saying this isn’t my most elegant review. (But are they really nowaways? LOL) Archenemies was really an escapist book for me during this quarantine. June has been kind of rough on my mental health, and there was just something about this superhero novel that pulled me back (even though it took me almost 3 weeks to finish the book).Continue reading
Thank you to Wednesday Books for sending me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Let me just say that no one is more disappointed than I am for not liking this book. When I first heard about it, especially with a comp title like The Phantom of the Opera and Moulin Rouge, I immediately added this book to my TBR. So bless the book gods when I was sent an ARC! I planned on starting it way sooner, but then the pandemic hit and so many books’ publication dates were pushed back–this one included!

I picked up this book from the publisher’s booth at the North Texas Teen Book Festival in March 2020.

I picked up an ARC of this book at my local indie bookstore.
Hello, what are you DOING with your life if you haven’t put this book on your TBR? Be a dear and pick this book up when it releases. This is the first book I’ve read by Córdova and I’m regretting not discovering her earlier or reading her earlier work. Like hello, what was I thinking?
A HUGE thank you to Tor Teen for giving me a free digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
If you haven’t read Dark of the West, the first book in the series, there might be some *spoilers* in this review regarding previous events.
All quotes are taken from the ARC and may change in the finished copy.

Y’all. I am so disappointed with this book.
I won a free ARC in a giveaway from Goodreads!
I’m sure I’m not the only one who gets really excited about a book, fortune shines down upon her so much that she won an ARC, and then you read it and you’re like… Well, okay then. Alas, that was me with Diamond City. I really liked the whole idea of the book, but I think this is a moment where it’s not the book, it’s me.
