ARC Review: “Super Fake Love Song” by David Yoon

I absolutely loved Yoon’s Frankly in Love, so when I saw that he was releasing another YA contemporary, I was very excited (though the cover isn’t my favorite). This book has a completely different vibe than FIL, and you have to dig a little deeper to find it. However, there are multiple, engrossing layers in this book–mending a sibling relationship, wondering who your parents really are, and not being ashamed of who you are. Once I got over the oddly hyperbolic writing style, I found myself enjoying it a lot more.

Hi, friends! Sorry for not posting in over two weeks! I’ve been trying to figure out if I want to continue my blog into 2021 while also deciding what kind of content to keep producing. Anyway, it’s a bit of a jumble right now but I’ll keep going for the rest of 2020!

Y’all, let me be honest for a second. I was very excited about this book. Maniscalco’s Stalking Jack the Ripper series was a rollercoaster for me (and by that I mean, I like the series as a whole but not all the books were absolute gems for me). But I love historical fiction, and the fact that Maniscalco is releasing a historical fantasy excited me!

Alas.

Not as enjoyable as the first one, as I found myself zoning out while listening to the audiobook. I’m not sure if this is because I started this book immediately after finishing the first one and didn’t give myself enough time to process things.

Review: “LIFEL1K3” by Jay Kristoff

Happy October! What a weird feeling to make to near the end of the wild year that has been and still is 2020.

Finishing LIFEL1K3 makes 70 books I’ve read so far. My goal is still 100, and according to Goodreads, I’ve 4 books behind. I told my spouse this the other day and he suggested I read some graphic novels or some shorter books, lol.

You know what’ll get me to almost automatically read a book? Give it a comp title of one of my favorite series. With this one, it’s An Ember in the Ashes.

I’m thrilled to have another book by Hahn as I really enjoyed her debut book, You’d Be Mine, and I’m so happy to say I loved her sophomore novel even more! This is a book Teenage Nicole would have simply loved as well, and Adult Nicole appreciates that teens now have the chance to have this book in their hands!
