WWW Wednesday #6

I’m so proud of myself for actually keeping track of these posts, lol!

Note: In my more recent WWW Wednesday posts, I said it was hosted by Should Be Reading. Well, I’ve learned that it’s not longer hosted there, but rather by Taking on a World of Words! Anyway, it’s still the same, where you answer the three following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Here we go!

First off, what are you currently reading? My usual routine is to physically read a book while also listening to an audiobook. That hasn’t changed but I’ve added one other book to the mix! 😱

I listened to Shiver as an audiobook, so per my usual routine, I continued the series the same way. I’m just not sure how invested I am in this series. I’m about 75% of the way through the book, and don’t know how I feel about anything right now. 🤷🏻

My Name Is Victoria is an eARC I requested from NetGalley. It’s not really what I thought it would be. It’s listened as Young Adult but it feels very Middle Grade, and the age of the characters doesn’t help. While I like historical fiction, particularly when it deals with royalty, I’m not super keen about this book. I’m only 30% or so through, so it’s too early to tell how much I really like it. But I’m so on the fence about it, I decided to start…

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas. This series is good, but I like the Throne of Glass series much better. However, when I read AoMaF, I found myself in Feyre so I quite liked that one. Anyway, I’m not sure what to expect from this despite the rave reviews on Goodreads. With A Court of Frost and Starlight releasing next month, I figured I out to finish these initial books.

What did you recently finish reading?

I read Destroy Me as part of my reread of Shatter Me before I start Restore Me. I’ve actually forgot a bit, but have also caught some things I missed the first time around now that I know how the series ends… Well, except now there’s 3 more books in the series, haha. It’s a novella from Warner’s POV and wow, it’s eye-opening.

I listened to Sapphire Blue as an audiobook. It’s the second book in the Precious Stone trilogy (or Ruby Red trilogy), as Hunting Prince Dracula is the second in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. Both were good!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Y’all should know by now I don’t have set TBRs, but I have some eARCs of a handful of May releases I really need to read and review. The one I’m most looking forward to Legendary by Stephanie Garber. I was also recently chosen to participate in the blog tour for Maurene Good’s The Way You Make Me Feel which is one of my most anticipated releases for May. So I’m very excited about that!

BONUS: I’m giving away a copy of The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan over on my Twitter! It’s international (with conditions), so feel free to enter! 🙂

I think ACOWAR is pretty worth it. I wasn’t all excited about it either, it took me probably around 6 months to finish it because it’s 700 pages long and that’s just tough when you’re not in the mood for fantasy. Anyway, it all paid off in the end. The last time I sat down to read it I stayed up till 6am because of those epic battle scenes!

Woah! I picked it because I was in the mood for some fantasy, so it’s really checking the box off there. I’m eager to see how the rest of the story plays out, and glad to see this intimate side of the Inner Circle. Also, LUCIEN.
