First off, happy first day of May!
I definitely think my tastes have changed ever since I started reading. That might seem like a no brainer, but being part of the book community on social media like Twitter and Instagram have really made me pick up books I wouldn’t otherwise pick up or even have a very generic opinion about bookish things.

The books mentioned in this post are ones that I thought were hyped and afraid they wouldn’t live up to their standard. Fortunately for me, they ended up being fantastic and I’m all the better for having these books in my life!

I don’t normally discuss books I dislike. Half the time I can’t even remember what they are because I just push them out of my mind (lol) to make room for other books. So truthfully, trying to even think of disappointing reads was a bit of a struggle, and thank Goodreads for helping me.

This is a spin on the actual topic which is “Books to Give _______ as Gifts.” The blank can be filled in with whatever you want… “Books to Give Parents as Gifts.” “Books to Give a Hufflepuff as Gifts,” etc. I wanted to do this spin because when people are asking for recommendations, I almost always recommend the following books. With Christmas around the corner, it’s really the perfect time to give them all as gifts!

Aaaaaaah!
I’ve always been a reader. Well, duh, you might be thinking, but the thing is I never gave much of a thought to what I read. I picked up whatever sounded interesting. Now that I’m older, with the boom of social media and me following more bookish accounts on both Twitter and Instagram, I have become a bit…choosier with what I read. I don’t mean that in a bad way, but I often time do follow the bandwagon and read the “popular” books.
But I’ve come across some books that I really wish had been around when I was a teenager. Maybe I would have felt less awkward or…whatever if I had read them. But I’m glad I get the chance to talk about them today.
